The progress of the test

The test will begin with some relatively easy questions that will gradually turn into more difficult ones as long as the person taking the test is able to answer most of the questions correctly. The test will soon be able to define the level of the person taking the test, and will thereafter present questions that the person will most likely answer correctly approximately 50 per cent of the time.

Time usage

For each question a time limit of 45 seconds is available. If the person taking the test does not answer the question in time the test will automatically move on to the next question and the question will be left unanswered. The test has 35 questions altogether and the whole test will usually take between 15 and 25 minutes. Speed is not considered when calculating the results but it is naturally needed in order to answer the questions correctly in due time.

A correct answer to a difficult question is more valuable than it is to an easy one. In accordance, an incorrect answer to a difficult question causes less harm to the result than it would if the question was an easy one.

The questions

The questions are different kinds of pattern recognition problems. In all of the questions you will be asked to choose between the choices A to I or A to G and find a picture suitable to replace the square that has a question mark on it.
